Stone kitchen flooring is the discerning homeowner’s first choice to provide long-lasting good looks in the busiest room in the house. Today’s modern kitchens are truly multi-functional. Other than preparing food, they have become social hubs for dining, entertaining and, increasingly, as workspaces. So, in areas with such heavy footfall, it makes sense to invest in stone kitchen flooring.
Transform your kitchen with stone flooring
As stone kitchen flooring specialists, Stamford Stone at Home offers homeowners a wide and varied selection. You’ll discover how our indoor stone flooring can transform any traditional or contemporary style kitchen. From rustic and grand country estate properties to modern town and architect-designed houses. In summer, natural stone feels cool underfoot. And in winter, with an underfloor heating system, a stone floor provides warmth while doing away with unsightly, space-consuming radiators. Here we look at five types of stone flooring typical of our range.
Types of natural stone
Much of our flooring is made from natural English limestone, which is sourced locally from our Stamford Stone quarry. Walcott One Corner, for instance, is an understated pale limestone with a contrast corner which is especially popular for use in hallways and receptions and fits beautifully with most kitchen surroundings. Walcott Aged, on the other hand, is handcrafted with a subtle distressed finish enhanced with faint fossil markings. It creates a seamless transition if run through a kitchen into a hallway, for example.
Also, we offer a collection of World Stones including Jacobean. In blends of brown, cream and grey, this timeless stone is hand aged, perfect for period-style properties. Lima Cream is a Tunisian fusion of rich and soft creams, suitable for both kitchen flooring and walls. Ideal if you desire a fresh, clean look in your modern kitchen.
To complement our natural stone flooring, we have recently added a bespoke collection of decorative tiles. We now offer an exclusive range of designer floor and wall tiles, meaning you can choose from a carefully curated collection of decorative natural stone, porcelain and ceramic, plus encaustic and terrazzo tiles. A prime example is Metropolitan Parquet – a riven tile echoing traditional wooden parquet arrangements, but in a more durable slate. Ideal in an ultra-modern, graphic-style kitchen.
Kitchen flooring care
Natural stone is practical and hygienic, guaranteed to add beauty and value to your home. Plus, it’s low maintenance. As long as the floor is properly installed and sealed, a regular sweep and occasional mopping will be all it needs.
And whatever stone kitchen flooring you choose you can be confident the Stamford Stone At Home team will provide all the guidance needed to make an informed decision. For more inspiration, head over to our Gallery page or contact our experts for further help and advice.
